Enjoy Irish Culture ezine, August 2013 issue August 01, 2013 |
Dear subscribers, thanks for subscribing to the Enjoy Irish Culture e-zine and welcome. This is our August edition filling you in on some news over the last month. For starters, we are excited to announce that we are running our first competition! We want to show Ireland as a great place to visit and are looking for your favourite Ireland travel stories or memories. Turn them into the proverbial 'pot of gold' by sharing them with us right now including, if you like, your favourite holiday snaps and video! Now a taster of some new content we have built for you in the last month. Find out here about 'crannogs' , what they are, how they were built and used for and a whole lot more! We are also suggesting a visit to 'Bunratty Castle' if you haven't been yet, and we are filling you in on the lesser know bloody medieval 'history' of the place and on interesting castle 'features' at Bunratty. Another bit of inspiration for your summer break here, if you happen to be in Counties Mayo or Galway, don't miss a visit to Joyce Country, and to the exciting 'Working Sheepdog Shows'! And, last but not least, a nice piece for history buffs about the Norman invasion of Ireland, and 'weapons used' on both sides...simply fascinating, we thought. Seeing the weapons really brings the scene to life! That's all for now. We hope to have inspired you. Enjoy, and have a lovely week and a wonderful month of July! Come visit us often and learn something new about Irish culture each time. Slán and see you again soon. Regards, Colm and Susanna
